The Coffee Roasting Co. (“CRC”) is celebrating 23 years throughout September 2026 with its Birthday Month Competition.

  1. Competition Period

    The CRC Birthday Month Competition runs from 1 September to 30 September 2026.

    Entries close at 23:59 on 30 September 2026.

    The winners will be drawn live on CRC’s social-media channels at 12:00 on 5 October 2026.

  2. How to Enter

    Every separate purchase made from CRC during the competition period constitutes one entry into the Birthday Draw corresponding to the total value of that purchase.

    There is no limit to the number of entries an eligible entrant may submit, provided that each entry relates to a separate qualifying purchase.

    Each entry must be supported by its own valid till slip, invoice or online order. The same purchase may not be entered more than once.

  3. The Prizes

    The total value of each purchase determines the Birthday Draw for which the entry qualifies:

    PURCHASE OF R300 OR MORE
    Entry into the draw to win a new white Saeco GranAroma Fully Automatic Bean-to-Cup Espresso Machine.

    PURCHASE OF R100–R299.99
    Entry into the draw to win CRC Coffee for One Year — 4 × 250 g pouches (1 kg) per month for 12 months.

    PURCHASE OF R1–R99.99
    Entry into the draw to win CRC Coffee for Three Months — 4 × 250 g pouches (1 kg) per month for 3 months.

  4. . In-Store and Restaurant Entries

    For purchases made at CRC at Lourensford Estate, entrants must write their name and cellphone telephone number clearly on the back of the relevant till slip or invoice.

    Entrants may also provide an Instagram or Facebook handle, where applicable.

    The till slip or invoice must then be placed into the Birthday Box corresponding to the total value of the purchase.

    The value reflected on the till slip or invoice determines the Birthday Draw for which the entry qualifies.

    If an entry is accidentally placed into the incorrect Birthday Box, CRC reserves the right to move the entry to the correct Birthday Draw. Placement of an entry into a higher-value Birthday Box does not qualify that entry for the higher-value prize.

  5. Online Orders

    Every qualifying purchase made through the CRC online store during the competition period will automatically be entered into the appropriate Birthday Draw.

    CRC will add eligible online orders to the relevant Birthday Boxes daily. No further action is required from online entrants.

    Each separate online order constitutes one entry into the Birthday Draw corresponding to the total value of that order.

  6. Coffee Subscription Prizes

    The winner of the One-Year Coffee prize will receive 4 × 250 g pouches (1 kg) of CRC coffee per month for 12 months.

    The winner of the Three-Month Coffee prize will receive 4 × 250 g pouches (1 kg) of CRC coffee per month for 3 months.

    Each month, CRC will select the coffees from its available range. Coffee selections may vary according to season and availability.
    Winners may specify their preferred grind according to their brewing method.

  7. The Draw

    One winner will be randomly selected from each of the three Birthday Boxes.

    The draw will take place live on CRC’s social-media channels at 12:00 on 5 October 2026.

    Each selected entry and its corresponding purchase will be verified before the winner is confirmed.

    Entrants are not required to be watching the live draw in order to qualify or win.

  8. Contacting the Winners

    CRC intends to telephone the selected winners during the live draw.

    Failure to answer the telephone during the live draw will not result in automatic forfeiture of a prize.

    CRC will make reasonable attempts to contact each selected winner using the cellphone telephone number provided on the entry, by telephone and/or WhatsApp/SMS.

    A selected winner will have 48 hours from CRC’s first contact attempt to respond.

    If CRC is unable to establish contact with a selected winner after reasonable attempts within that period, CRC may select an alternate eligible winner in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

    Entrants are responsible for ensuring that the name and cellphone telephone number provided are correct and legible.

  9. Photographs, Video and Publicity

    Winners may be invited to participate in photographs, video recordings or other promotional content relating to the competition and/or prize handover, which may be published on CRC’s social-media channels or other marketing platforms.

    Participation in any such publicity is entirely voluntary.

    A winner may decline to participate in photographs, video recordings or other publicity without affecting the winner’s entitlement to the prize.

    That last provision is particularly important: the regulations expressly protect a winner’s right to decline participation in marketing or attendance at the draw.

  10. Eligibility

    The Birthday Draw is open to eligible members of the public making qualifying purchases from CRC during the competition period.

    Directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants of CRC, persons who directly or indirectly control or are controlled by CRC, and suppliers of goods or services in connection with the competition are not eligible to win.

    I’ve slightly expanded your exclusion here because that tracks the categories in section 36 of the CPA more closely.

  11. Verification and Prizes

    CRC reserves the right to verify an entry, the corresponding purchase and the entrant’s eligibility before awarding a prize.

    Each prize will be awarded as described in these Terms & Conditions and may not be exchanged for cash.

    The Saeco GranAroma prize is a new white machine.

  12. Personal Information

    Personal information provided in connection with the competition will be used solely for the administration of the competition, including verifying entries, contacting winners and arranging the fulfilment of prizes.

    Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable South African data protection legislation.

  13. Corporate Partners

    Corporate account purchases made directly through CRC will participate in a separate Corporate Birthday Draw, with the opportunity to win a CRC Coffee Morning for the winning company’s team.

    The Corporate Birthday Draw is subject to its own entry requirements and prize conditions, which will be communicated separately to eligible corporate participants.

  14. General

    CRC reserves the right to reject fraudulent, duplicated, altered or otherwise invalid entries.

    If circumstances outside CRC’s reasonable control make it necessary to change the administration or timing of the competition, CRC will communicate any material changes appropriately, subject to applicable law.

    These Terms & Conditions are available on The Coffee Roasting Co. website for the duration of the competition.
